The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes
by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Troop 1 was chartered in 1947 to St. Paul’s Church in Blackstone, MA. |
The troop has over 55 active scouts, who range in age from 11-17, holding ranks from Tenderfoot up through Eagle. Over 120 scouts have made Eagle since 1948. Active first year scouts will achieve First Class within one year of joining.
We pride ourselves on being a “Boy Run” troop. We are located in Blackstone, Massachusetts and are Chartered at Divine Mercy Parish, we serve scouts in the Blackstone, Millville, and Woonsockett RI areas.
Our Troop holds weekly Wednesday troop meetings during the span of our school year. Also, as a troop, we try our best to have monthly camp-outs the whole year round. We also hold at least 4 Courts of Honor and award ceremonies.
Every summer Troop 1 spends a full week at YAWGOOG Scout Reservation located in Rockland, RI. This 1800-Acre reservation is run by the Narragansett Council, was founded in 1916, and is the fourth oldest continuously run scout camp in the United States
The troop offers scouts activities which include whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing, week long trips and much, much more.
The troop sponsors Service Projects throughout the year at many community locations.
Meetings are at 7:00pm every Wednesday when school is in session. Visitors are always welcome. Joining is easy!
